For reasons yet to be researched, the Facebook events feed here began failing in January 2011, and all events have aged off. I'm proud that for some 18 months it worked so well, showing hundreds of hot events a week, culled from a complex network of friends' RSVPs. Frankly I'm not surprised, it was so complicated that the queries took hours to process just the incremental since prior week.
The overall volume grew little over time, several hundred friends each with a few RSVPs and invites. So I suspect the change is Facebook may have started applying limits, but I've read no such in developer press. Other real possibilities include CPU or pipe limits on my host. Unfortunately such details are so esoteric they're often undocumented. A further problem is the code was perfected and untouched since 2009, so review requires learning curve.
At this time, with current development focus on MassUp.us I cannot estimate when this problem will be resolved. Sorry. Any hearty PHP pros able and interested in taking a stab at it, I'd share.
